The skills of a Corporate Secretary
The secretary serves as an aid to the company executive. Therefore, his job consists of what the executive orders. There are times that she has to sit down in a business meeting and document the proceedings. While a computer can make her job easier, the secretary must also have listening skills to record the right statements.
Having good listening skills is also vital for a Corporate Secretary when her boss dictates something that she needs to type in the computer. The dictation can be an important correspondence and so the secretary must get the right words. Obviously, she must also be skilled with the computer particularly with word processing programs.
It is an integral job of the secretary to create documents using the computer. Thus, she must format letters, memos and correspondence according to corporate standards. If needed, the secretary must deliver this form to the recipient if they prefer to have a hard copy.
